  • understand the different legal options and legal aid entitlements available to people affected by domestic abuse

  • explain how clients made homeless by domestic abuse may be able to make a homeless application and the law that applies

  • check which clients are eligible for housing and benefits support, plus options available to those with no recourse to public funds (NRPF) living in the UK on spousal visas when their relationships breakdown due to domestic abuse.

  • refer clients to specialist organisations who can provide support

Face to face training will explain how to make an application for a non-molestation order or an occupation order on behalf of a victim of abuse.

Who this training is for

You might find it helpful if you've had previous training in domestic abuse awareness, but this is not essential.

You might work in a role where you advise or support people who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse.
