What this course covers

Face to face and webinar training includes:

  • types of housing status, tenancies, and licences

  • tenancies created by the Rent Act 1977, Housing Acts 1985, 1988 and 1996

  • notices and possession proceedings

  • grounds for possession, possession orders, an overview of the role of the court and bailiff warrants

  • occupiers outside mainstream protection, excluded occupiers

What you'll learn

At the end of this training, you'll be able to:

  • check a tenant's security of tenure

  • advise an occupier about notices

  • explain when the court can make a possession order

  • identify where an occupier has a defence to possession proceedings
