A corporate partner of Shelter
Karndean Designflooring joined Shelter as a Corporate Partner in January 2025 and through their amazing fundraising efforts continue to pledge £25,000 to support Shelter’s vital work. As the UK's leading supplier of luxury vinyl flooring, Karndean is well-known for beautiful flooring that brings a home to life. Karndean will support Shelter's advice and advocacy services for people who face homelessness and unfit housing. They will also work with us in our campaign to tackle housing injustice.
The team at Karndean are supporting Shelter in multiple ways, including via sales of their own limited edition plush toy “Smokey the Dog” created especially for our partnership. £5 from each Smokey sold is donated to Shelter to help fund our efforts to support those in a housing emergency.
Karndean have also pledged to make a donation for every free chip sample that is returned to them to be reused or recycled. This innovative approach not only encourages a circular economy but enables the continuation of Shelter’s services.
Karndean’s teams are also heavily involved in supporting Shelter through volunteering days at Shelter’s dedicated furniture store in Erdington, and running a variety of fundraising events at their showrooms. In March 2026, Vice President of Sales, Richard Allen, ran an ultramarathon of 200km from the company’s Evesham headquarters to Shelter’s head office in London, raising a fantastic £5,729.50 for Shelter.
It isn’t just through volunteering and fundraising that Karndean support Shelter; they have donated excess flooring to some of our retail stores for reuse or resale.
