Our housing advice service
We give free, confidential advice to people who need help with their housing problems.
We may be able to advise you if:
you are worried about losing your home
you cannot afford your rent or your landlord wants to increase your rent
your landlord is not doing repairs or dealing with problems in your home
your home is not safe, is affecting your health, or putting you at risk
your landlord is harassing you, entering your home without permission, or trying to force you to leave
landlords or agents are discriminating against you because you get benefits, have children or because of your race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or another personal characteristic
you are homeless or at risk of homelessness but the council will not help you
temporary accommodation the council has given you is affecting your health
If you need homeless support, ask your council for help first.
We cannot usually help with problems with the council housing waiting list.
