Section 8 court hearings
Guide for private tenants with an eviction hearing.
When can your landlord get bailiffs?
Your landlord can ask court bailiffs to evict you if either:
you stay past the possession date
you break the conditions on a suspended order
For example, if you pay rent late or pay less than it says to on the order.
You get 2 weeks' notice of the eviction date
The bailiffs send a letter with the date and time they will come to evict you.
The court cannot stop the eviction if the order was made on grounds 1 to 8.
