Dave Cowan

Dave is a Professor of Law and Policy at the University of Bristol, where he teaches land law and housing issues. He has been researching housing and homelessness issues for over thirty years and has written for both academic and professional texts. His research focuses on possession proceedings, human rights, homelessness decision-making, allocations, housing standards and their enforcement, and broader issues of regulation. He is also an academic member of Doughty Street Chambers, where he practises housing and social welfare law. He enjoys training and engaging with practitioners about their work.
