John McQuade

John is Shelter's Vice Chair. He is a lifelong advocate for social justice, with lived experience core to his belief in the need for systems change. His third sector and not-for-profit experience in the arts includes roles as a participant, volunteer, and director. He has acted as a mentor for organisations including the Social Mobility Foundation and Women in Banking and Finance and as a leader across causes intersecting LGBTQ+ persons, mental health, disability, and neurodiversity. Most recently, he was the executive sponsor for Tesco Bank's disability group. Throughout his career across retail, operations and financial services, John has built and led inclusive teams, driving better customer outcomes, higher ethical standards and greater accessibility.
