The Paris Marathon is one of Europe's most popular marathons thanks to the spectacular views of the city. Tens of thousands of runners take part every year.

Starting at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe, you'll see the Champs Elysées, the Bois de Vincennes and many other famous landmarks along your route. The sights of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower guiding you towards the finish line make for an unforgettable experience.

By fundraising for Shelter, you'll be defending the right to a safe home for everyone.

Your run fuels the fight for home

A woman wearing a medal and Shelter vest celebrates after her race. She is holding a frame that reads 'The fight for home starts here'.

Every mile, every drop of sweat, and every pound you raise will help tackle the devastating impact of the housing emergency. For example, your £575 fundraising pledge could:

  • fund 19 calls to our emergency helpline

  • fund 25 webchats providing essential housing advice

  • pay for legal advice to help three families in crisis keep their home

'It was a pleasure running for Shelter. Thanks for giving me a place so I could support your work while taking part in the run. I'd really like to do it again - my aim will be to beat my fundraising from this year!'

Frequently asked questions

How do I fundraise for my event?

We're here to help with any fundraising queries and are more than happy to talk through ideas with you. We recommend starting by setting up a fundraising page on JustGiving.

Our top fundraising ideas include bake sales and pub quizzes. You can find all our fundraising resources here, including our paper sponsorship form.

Reaching my fundraising pledge

We’re here to support you with your fundraising as much as possible. Get in touch by emailing running@shelter.org.uk or call us on 0344 515 1190.

Not reaching your fundraising pledge impacts what Shelter can achieve, so please make sure you're confident in reaching this target before signing up. The deadline for sending in the funds you've raised is six weeks after event day.

Raising a minimum fundraising pledge

It's important to raise a minimum fundraising pledge, as we invest in places at charity events. Each place is important to ensure we raise as much as possible to support our vital work.

You can reach your pledge through sponsorship from family, friends and colleagues, plus other forms of fundraising such as bake sales or quizzes.
