We all need someone in our corner 

In this issue of Home, Belinda shares her story of living in unsuitable accommodation. The situation became critical after she fell down the stairs carrying her son Lawrence’s wheelchair. At that point, Belinda was put in touch with Shelter.  

She spent years trying to get help to move to a safe home. Our housing system can feel like a maze at times, a new barrier around every corner. But Shelter’s years of experience mean we can support people in making the right calls and standing up for their housing rights. That’s exactly what Belinda did. Thanks to her determination and our expertise, Belinda and Lawrence are now in a suitable home they love.  

We can only make positive change happen because of supporters like you. Together, we’re in the corner of families fighting the housing emergency nationwide. Thank you so much for making sure people in similar situations to Belinda’s know they’re never alone.
