Are you ready to join us for the Newmarket Half Marathon?
The one-lap route starts and finishes at Newmarket Racecourse. It's a closed-road course with undulating hills and scenic countryside. The friendly atmosphere and local support make this an ideal event for half marathon beginners or seasoned runners.
Sign up for a charity place with Shelter and be part of the fight for housing justice.
You must be at least 17 years old to run the Newmarket Half Marathon.
Already have your own place?
If you've already secured a spot, you can use your place to help fight the housing emergency by running and fundraising for Shelter. We'd love for you to join the team – please get in touch.

Your run fuels the fight for home

When you run and fundraise for Shelter, every pound you raise helps defend the right to a safe home for everyone. For example:
£29 could fund one call to our emergency helpline
£40 could fund two webchats for people facing homelessness so they know their rights
£157 could pay for legal advice to help a family in crisis keep their home
We also campaign for long-term change that will tackle the root causes of homelessness. We lobby the government to build a new generation of social homes. And we call out systemic racism in the housing sector. Will you join us?
Fundraising for Shelter
We recommend you start by setting up a fundraising page on JustGiving and asking friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you. You can also organise an event such as a bake sale or quiz. See our fundraising resources for more inspiration.
Please make sure you’re confident in reaching the fundraising pledge before you sign up. We invest in places at charity events and need to raise as much as possible for our fight against housing injustice.
Our friendly Events team are on hand to support you with your fundraising. If you have a question or want to talk through ideas, contact Maya by email at Maya_BrodieDowden@shelter.org.uk or call 0344 515 1190.
