Oxford Half Marathon 2026

  • Oxford
  • 11 October 2026
  • 13.1 miles
  • Registration fee: £19
  • Fundraising pledge: £250

Challenge yourself to the Oxford Half Marathon for Shelter. Run through the heart of this historic city and stand with people who face homelessness or unsafe housing.

The flat and fast course is ideal for half marathon beginners, or experienced runners seeking a personal best.

It's a closed-road route that passes Oxford's most iconic landmarks, including the Bodleian Library and Bridge of Sighs.

You'll also take in tree-lined avenues and the green spaces of the University Parks and Old Marston village. Live music and cheering spectators will keep you motivated all the way to the finish line!

Run for charity with Team Shelter – every step you take and every pound you raise will fuel the fight for home.

You must be at least 16 years old to run the Oxford Half Marathon (provided you turn 17 on or before 31 December 2026).

Already have your own place?

If you were lucky enough to secure your own spot, you can still join Team Shelter and use your place to help fight the housing emergency. We'd love for you to join the team – please get in touch.

When you run and fundraise for Shelter, you're defending the right to a safe home for everyone.

Our experts advise and support people facing homelessness or unsafe housing. Thanks to fundraisers like you, last year we supported 16,721 households in England through our emergency helpline and 13,130 through our local hubs.

We also tackle the root causes of homelessness, by:

  • campaigning for better renters' rights

  • lobbying the government to build a new generation of social homes

  • calling out systemic racism in the housing system

Every pound you raise helps to make housing justice a reality.

Fundraising for Shelter

We recommend you start by setting up a fundraising page on JustGiving and asking friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you. You can also organise an event such as a bake sale or quiz. See our fundraising resources for more inspiration.

Please make sure you’re confident in reaching the fundraising pledge before you sign up. We invest in places at charity events and need to raise as much as possible for our fight against housing injustice.

Our friendly Events team are on hand to support you with your fundraising. If you have a question or want to talk through ideas, email running@shelter.org.uk or call us on 0344 515 1190.
